The Problem

Rentalo SV aimed to build a modern peer-to-peer car rental platform similar to Turo, where vehicle owners could list their cars and customers could book rentals conveniently and securely. Before beginning the project, the client's challenges included building a reliable marketplace that connects car owners and renters, creating a secure verification and listing flow for owners, developing a booking system with real-time availability checks, ensuring smooth search functionality with location-based filtering, managing onboarding, documents, pricing, payments, and communication, and designing a scalable architecture to handle thousands of listings. The goal was to create a user-friendly, web-based platform with fast performance, automated workflows, and easy navigation — enabling customers to discover, compare, and book vehicles effortlessly.

What We Built

Devritech built Rentalo SV, a Turo-style rental marketplace: React web platform, Firebase for auth, database, hosting, and storage, Google Places API for location search and autocomplete, responsive UI, backend for bookings and availability, and dashboards for owners and renters. Owners upload details, documents, pricing, and availability; renters browse, filter by location, and book instantly. We built a Smart Search & Discovery system with location-based search, Google Places autocomplete, category and price filters, and real-time results. The Listing Management System lets owners upload images and details, set pricing and extras, manage availability and rules, and set pickup instructions. The Secure Booking Workflow includes live availability, instant bookings, auto-updated calendars, confirmations, and cancellation logic. We also added trust and verification, communication tools, an admin panel, and revenue tracking.
